All things beginning with ‘B’

It seems that life at the moment is surrounded in things beginning with B. Last weekend we had a full on day on Saturday.  Paul took Luke to gymnastics and then Becky & Dean came over with their 3 boys, Joseph, Timothy & Michael, for morning tea/lunch.  What a busy time!!  The weather was awful so we were all stuck inside and the house got bombed with toys EVERYWHERE!!!

Paul had to go out for a while and when he came back, he could hardly walk through the lounge – should have seen his face!! LOL!!   But it was lots of fun – the boys were bushed by 2pm, so time for bed.

Then we went out to a Turkish restaurant for dinner – I thought it would be fun to get one of those tables where you sit on the cushions and it’s under the ‘tent’ – the kids loved it and I LOVE baklava which we had for dessert. We went with a group of friends and 7 kids in total – the poor restaurant owners – they were very patient though. A lovely night, with the kids putting on ‘shows’ for us on the ‘stage’ area next to the table. Unfortunately no pics!!!

Can’t remember Sunday… hmmm.

On Friday, Luke & I went to visit Megan, Jackson & Johnny for the morning/lunch.  Jackson and Luke had a blast – playing in the boat sandpit & play house, building train tracks, pretending to be chickens in the new chicken coop (which is yet to be inhabited by chickens!), and checking out the big bus Megan & hubby have done up for an office/sleepout.  Pics are below:

Haven’t been scrapbooking much at all… not sure why but definitely not FEELING it at the moment. Only doing what I have to for my weekly ‘homework’.  Last week it was psychology and we had to do a LO on ourselves – do a colour and personality test, use those and then a matching LO on our star sign.    Then this week we did a mini-album for geography class.  I did it on where Luke fits in the world – my arms!!  Paul is dead jealous now and wants  me to do a mini-album about him and Luke – LOL!  It was my first mini-album, and I might be biased (hahaha) but I like it.  Pics of everything below.

Today we’re having a quiet day – weather is FREEZING and raining – yuk! Paul took Luke out this morning while I tidied up… and had a hot cup of tea undisturbed… BLISS!!  Have friends over tomorrow for brunch so it will be nice. Otherwise, just relaxing as much as poss at home today – YAY!!

Birthday Celebrations!

Well, my little angel turned 3 and to celebrate we had lots of pressies and a party at Lollipops.  This year was definitely THE YEAR for Luke to realise what was going on – so excited all day – opening his cards and seeing what was on them, and then the presents and playing with his toys.  Very aware of this age – is walking around saying “I three” all the time – just so AWARE this year.

We got Luke a huge climbing frame which is set up in the lounge (just what we need!) while winter is here.  He had outgrown his baby one and loves his new one – he’s like a little monkey on it.   I set it up the night before and then put his pressies in the middle of it, and covered it with a sheet – wasn’t going to wrap it up, that’s for sure!!  In the morning, he had a blast unveiling the frame and then seeing the pressies underneath.  Not sure what his favourite was but he really liked his guitar and microphone set, and spent a lot of the morning being a “rock star” (to quote him) and putting on shows for us – LOL :)

Then it was party time in the afternoon and he was spoilt rotten by everyone with their gifts.  Had 12 friends join him at Lollipops and we had a great time. Only bummer was as soon as we turned up, the big blow up slide burst and was out of order for the whole party… and of course, we had being talking about it all the way there, as Luke LOVES the slide.

Then on the way home, we stopped off and got McDonalds drive through for dinner – just what we needed, more junk food.  But it was rather late and the birthday boy needed feeding.

The next day we picked up a present from Aunty Robyn and Uncle Mike – a keyboard with microphone!!! They definitely hit the nail on the head with that present.  So you can imagine the ‘shows’ that are going on at the moment – it’s either the guitar or the keyboard – he is SUCH A PERFORMER!!! Loves to sing and dance, and loves the fact that both his instruments amplify his voice – maybe he’s like his mummy and likes the sound of his own voice – LOL!!

Here’s some pics of the big day (to see an image bigger just click on the photo):

Where the fun begins…

Well, normally it’s at home but since we went to Rainbow’s End on Sunday and had a blast, I thought I’d say it started there and use their motto!

Lukie Luke and mummy met Becky, Emma, Joseph, Timmy & Baby Michael there on Sunday morning nice and early, and freezing cold (!), and set out for a few hours of fun times.  Aside from the fact that it’s an ABSOLUTE RIP OFF for spectators ($15 each just to watch!), the kids had a blast.  It wasn’t too busy in the small kids area “The Castle”, so Luke, Jo and Timmy could go on the rides over and over and over and over again… and they did!! They would get on a ride and stay there until ‘we’ (the adults) got sick of it… or if we managed to hold out, until they got sick of it and something else caugth their eye.

We also managed to see their “Rainbow Bird” show and after much cajoling, Luke and Joseph crept up onto the stage (with their mummies!) and danced with Rainbow Bird.! So brave!! And as a ‘reward’, Rainbow Bird gave them some lollies. (Luke hasn’t stopped talking about the flippin bird ever since!!)

Here are some snaps of the fun we had:

Bee’s don’t always sting

Just had to show you these photos from last weeke.d Paul took Luke to the Toy Library after gymnastics and he picked out 2 costurmes – one clown one for him to wear and a bee one for Aurelia, who was coming over later that day to play… isn’t he sweet thinking of her??? Anyway, turns out he likes the bee one better, and here he is in it.  He was running round the room saying ‘buzzzz, buzzzz, buzzzzz’ and trying to sting daddy and me.  LOL.

Then later that day it rained and I took these photos of the rainbow. Didn’t come out fab, but it was huge.

Wow! Our new site…

So… after reading a whole heap of opinions about whether to ‘blog’ or ‘wordpress’ and basically coz I can’t respond to comments, I’ve changed us over here.  Still to learn how to do anything on this site, but we’ll get there.

It’s been getting so cold and frosty here in the mornings – we don’t usually get a frost up the hill at our house but Paul’s car has been totally iced up some mornings.  Below  is a photo of the fog over the valley recently from our balcony, plus one of me and Luke sharing a smoothie recently and some of his tent Paul built him in the lounge – it’s a pretty cool tent and has his own ‘room’ inside (as you can see from the other photos).  Unfortunately I uploaded photos all together and have no time to change so…

Today is my day off with Lukie Luke, so we went to the park this morning and he’s about to have a sleep…YAY! Then this avo we’ll go somewhere else… I’m tossing up visiting friends or going shopping. I think ‘friends’ might win out coz yesterday I went to the L’Oreal sale and spent $$$$… ssshhhhh, don’t tell Paul!! And that’s on top of my $$$$ purchase last Friday, not to mention my scrapbook online purchases this week… gosh, I’m pretty good at spending money at the moment!!

Getting ready for him to turn 3 YEARS OLD Monday week – we’re having his birthday party on the Sunday and he’s so excited!! Can’t believe that 3 years have gone by since we got him – what a whirlwind it’s been and such a blessing.

If you’re wanting to view our old blog, feel free to visit us at http://www.uslot-livinglife.blogspot.com

Well, signing off for today. Gotta run. x
